Firmoo.com Free Eye Glasses!

4 Feb

Molly Fact: I need glasses to read or use a computer. My eyesight is actually fine but the muscles that allow my eyes to focus on close things are weak so I need the glasses to do the focusing for me. If I don’t, I go cross eyed and get tired.

Another Molly Fact: I think the price of prescription glasses is RIDICULOUS!

Given these two facts, I was pretty excited when the people at Firmoo.com asked if I would like to review their service and get a free pair of glasses.

Firmoo is “the world’s most popular online eyeglasses store” that offers high quality glasses at extremely affordable prices.  We’re talking $8-$68.  That’s for the frames AND the lenses. With free shipping for orders over $39. Say what? I KNOW.  And it’s completely legit – you can read all about how they keep their prices low without compromising quality on their about page.  The best part? Thanks to their First Pair Free program, new customers can choose from a selection of FREE styles and just pay shipping costs ($6.95 for standard, $12.95 for expedited.)

(Taking pictures of myself with glasses has made me realize that, yes, my ears are in fact crooked. D’oh.”

After some perusing, I had narrowed down some choices.  Obviously, when shopping for glasses online you can’t try on each pair.  But Firmoo makes this a little less of a guessing game with their Virtual Try-On System.  You simply upload a straight-forward shot of yourself and voila, you’re trying on glasses:

A screen shot of my Virtual Try-On with the glasses I ultimately decided on – the ZS1117s in Black and Grain. You can see the virtual pair is pretty accurate!  Another great aspect of Firmoo is that they offer Customer Photos for many of their styles so you can see what the glasses look like in action.

The glasses arrived quickly in a protective case.  They’re the same quality as I would expect from any brick-and-mortar eyeglass store. I’ve tried other online eyeglass stores in the past and these were delivered a lot quicker.  If you like to change up your look but don’t want to spend a ridiculous amount, getting inexpensive glasses is a fun option.  Personally, since I don’t have to wear glasses all the time, I’ve purchased a few different pairs and keep one at work so I never forget them.

Just discovered your blog and as a fellow Bostonian (well, outskirts of Bostonian) I am loving it! I too need glasses and my family has been buying them from a website called Zenni Optical for years now and the selection is unreal and the quality is there – and some frames cost as little as $9, so needless to say I’ve got a pair of glasses to match every outfit! Not a plug for the site or anything, just wanted to share the knowledge!

I have a few pairs from Zenni as well! There’s also Coastal.com which is the same idea, though I haven’t tried them yet.
