The 27 for 27 list

3 Dec

It’s my birthday! I’m the big 2-7. Hooray!

I accomplished a lot in my 26th year.  Lost 30 pounds (and kept it off), finished massage school and became a Licensed Massage Therapist, ran my first 5k, and went ziplining! Here’s a list of things I want to do before I turn 28.

1. Crochet a hat that I would actually wear

2. Cook a meal once a month (aim low, you guys)

3. Take a road trip to a new place

4. Send someone a care package for no reason

5. Run a 10k

6. Take a yoga class at least once a month (again, aim low)

7. Go sledding

8. Bake something and try to enjoy doing it

9. Have friends over for cocktails

10. See Book Of Mormon

11. Go to the Newport Mansions

12. Go ziplining again

13. Go to a massage conference

14. Save (an undisclosed amount of) money

15. Take some sort of class

16. Meet more bloggers

17. Use or sell my yarn stash so I can re-invest in better quality

18. Establish monthly date night

19. Play more board games

20. Do one craft project a month (and finish it!)

21. Swim in a lake

22. Crochet a granny square blanket

23. Go to a museum I haven’t been to

24. See Mumford & Sons

25. Go on a tour of something

26. Go to a Patriots game

27. Go to a Red Sox game

  • Your favorite sister

I volunteer for #4. And #18. Don’t touch the bottom of the lake, it’s slimey.

#5 Sign up for the Tufts 10K for Women, on Columbus day in October. This year will be my 14th time running it. We can do ladies lunch after the run!

SO SORRY I MISSED YOUR BIRTHDAY! Take a class with me… there is always a Groupon for something or another, we could do glass blowing or the BYOB painting classes or trapezing!

I am an especially big fan of 10, 16, and 22! LOVE these lists so much. I tried to aim low in mine too, and am already finding that some stuff just isn’t going to happen. It’s a great way to learn about your own priorities. =)

Congrats on a great 26th year and good luck in the 27th! And happy birthday. =)

Your “aim low” comments totally made me feel better about my fitness goals this year :) I still don’t think if I can get the confidence to attend a yoga class at all!!!

My friend shared a quote with me when I was struggling with getting back into running/fitness this past year: “Little by little, all is coming”. Any small change helps in the long run!

You should definitely try out a yoga class!
