The 27 for 27 list

3 Dec

It’s my birthday! I’m the big 2-7. Hooray!

I accomplished a lot in my 26th year.  Lost 30 pounds (and kept it off), finished massage school and became a Licensed Massage Therapist, ran my first 5k, and went ziplining! Here’s a list of things I want to do before I turn 28.

1. Crochet a hat that I would actually wear

2. Cook a meal once a month (aim low, you guys)

3. Take a road trip to a new place

4. Send someone a care package for no reason

5. Run a 10k

6. Take a yoga class at least once a month (again, aim low)

7. Go sledding

8. Bake something and try to enjoy doing it

9. Have friends over for cocktails

10. See Book Of Mormon

11. Go to the Newport Mansions

12. Go ziplining again

13. Go to a massage conference

14. Save (an undisclosed amount of) money

15. Take some sort of class

16. Meet more bloggers

17. Use or sell my yarn stash so I can re-invest in better quality

18. Establish monthly date night

19. Play more board games

20. Do one craft project a month (and finish it!)

21. Swim in a lake

22. Crochet a granny square blanket

23. Go to a museum I haven’t been to

24. See Mumford & Sons

25. Go on a tour of something

26. Go to a Patriots game

27. Go to a Red Sox game

Thanksgiving Cards

Starting a new trend: Thanksgiving Cards.  Because lets face it, I get too darn busy in December to send holiday cards and I can never make up my mind on which ones to get.  This was easy – I found adorbs (yep I said it) stickers at Target, some card stock at Paper Source and whammy, Thanksgiving cards.  I found making and sending Thanksgiving cards more personal as well.  An unexpected piece of mail with an adorable turkey signifying that the sender is thinking of you and grateful for your presence in their life? CHYEAH.

You know that time when you feel like you have so many ideas of things to write for your blog but then you sit down to write and nothing comes out and you blame it on everything from not having a proper desk to an itchy shirt to a too-strong candle so then you just don’t write anything for a week and a half. Yep.

Unfortunately I’m still in that mode.  So here’s some recent instagram photos!

If you like playing around with photo editing on your phone, I’d highly recommend the Camera + app.  I put this shot through just the “Clarify” action which makes everything really crisp and bright.

And this one was put through the “Ansel” filter for a really nice Black & White (better than the usual instagram B&W filter).  I pass by this building a lot – it’s on the corner of Commonwealth aaaand…Hereford? Maybe? Around there in the Back Bay. I’m always fascinated by it but I have no idea what it houses.

Part of my therapy assignment this week was to go to Faneuil Hall by myself in the evening. Maybe I should write a post about how therapy is going? To put it short – really well.

I sort of randomly decided that I should wear lipstick. This one is Revlon’s “Trendsetter.”  I have mixed feelings.  Recommendations for a good color on pale redheads is always accepted. Also, the Spin Pins I doubted in my Influenster post? They TOTALLY work! I’ve been rockin the buns lately. I’m not editing that sentence.

Sometimes I blend into Ikea scenery like a Swedish chameleon.

We braved and survived Hurricane Sandy. Don’t worry, these fools on the news quickly scampered off unscathed. I’m extremely grateful that my neighborhood (and most of Boston for that matter) went un-damaged. I can’t imagine what it must feel like in New York and New Jersey at the moment.
